MB-2 Walnut Fretless 34" Scale Bass #1638

MB-2 Walnut Fretless 34" Scale Bass #1638
MB-2 Walnut #1638. This bass features a semi-hollow one piece mahogany body, with an eastern black walnut top, featuring a single f-hole, and faux tortoiseshell binding made from celluloid nitrate. The 34” scale neck is made from mahogany, with a Macasser ebony fingerboard, featuring the “integrated thumbrest“ option. While it is a small detail, I have found over the years of listening to many basses, the unlined fingerboards have a touch more sustain and punch, due to the fact that they do not have the fret slots cut…providing a purely solid fingerboard.
The mahogany wood used in the neck and body has a a quick transient response (read “punchy”), while at the same time being warm…..truly a time tested classic tone wood for these reasons, giving this bass a full thick tone.
A custom made form fit hard case (locally made in Los Angeles by G&G) is included.
